Mission
The mission of The City of the Children of Matamoros A.C. is to transform the lives of orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children by providing a safe, secure, healthy, and nurturing environment filled with unconditional love. In addition, it is our mission to provide educational and training opportunities, which will afford these children a chance to become independent adults, and enable them to grow into caring and productive members of their communities who give back to those in need.
Organization
The City of Children of Matamoros A.C. is a non-profit organization designed to function in perpetuity. All members of the board are volunteers and receive no compensation for their involvement on the board. The board operates from bylaws that clearly define organizational parameters and ensures that all donations and resources are specifically earmarked for the support of abandoned children. The board is deigned to have a broad representation of community leaders, educators, businesses, religion, service organizations, and community representatives from Mexico and the United States, to serve with the one common purpose of helping others in need.
